Although I've turned off alerts (save comments alerts), I have read the many messages by email and comments, also on Call for Support, in sympathy and compliment.
Just want to let y'all know that I'm touched. I cannot look into the future, but if you want, you can keep my alert open.
I'll continue to monitor emails until (probably) Monday.

Words are poor things when we suffer the loss of a loved one. Still I want to convey my desire, however inadequate, to offer consolation.
ReplyDeleteRose

You don't know me but I came here via Donna's journal. I just wanted to pass on my condolences and that if it was ok I would like to say a prayer for you and your family and keep you all in my thoughts. Obviously you mean a lot to many here in J-land so keep that in your mind when you do decide to come back. I know it is hard right now and you need time away, but you know so many care about you, j-land is a great support group. Try to have a happy tomorrow. : )
ReplyDeleteAllison
Guido, My deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear mother. The loss of a parent leaves one feeling alone, deserted, left behind.... anyway, that's how I felt when my dad passed. He was always my rock, my advisor, my friend and I felt totally lost when he wasn't here anymore. So I understand what you're feeling and I'm truly sorry that you are going through such terrible pain. My heart and my prayers are with you, Guido!!! But please, please know that J-land would never be the same without you.... go be where you need to be now.... we'll be here when you are ready to come back.
ReplyDeleteLove and Friendship Always,
Joann
There isn't much we can tangibly do to help, but we are certainly keeping you in our thoughts. I hope you've been able to make travel plans, and, if so, then have a very safe journey. We'll miss you in J-land, but you must do what you need to do for yourself and your family. As you pointed out to me more than once in the past, "real life takes precedence." I hope you'll be able to pop in once in a while or send out a mass email letting us know you're alive and well, even if you don't resume journaling. But if not, then just know we've all benefited from your being a part of J-land and will miss you much. Take care!

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

My dear Guido,
ReplyDeleteDo you see how much you are loved by so many people around the world. That's your fault. All of these good people have found a gentle love with caring kindness in your ministrations to them over the years. You searched out the lonely and the sick and the sad and gave them a heads up to those of us with like minded natures such as your own. We care enough to visit and help each other feel better. You regularly helped to put a bit of life and spirit into ordinary every day folk a bit down on their health or luck.
You encouraged my timid attempts at writing and for that I will always be eternally greatful.
May God speed you on your way home and make your journey as smooth as possible. All our wishes, prayers and hopes will follow you wherever you are.
If you find the time one day...drop us a line to let us know if you are well and enjoying life. That will cheer us all up for sure.
Much love, echoed I know by all those whose lives you have touched with your big caring heart, is being sent to you at this very sad time.
Jeanie xx
i know how i would feel guido you took time to send me email to try and help my mums suffering. and for that i thank you take care mort
ReplyDeleteGuido, my sincere sympathy..you are one on your own..and you so deserve every tribute and kind wish coming to you.
ReplyDeleteA door has closed..but you know..another will open..and that's my wish for you..that the next door, chapter..in your life will bring contentment and peace.
You've put the Isle of Lewis on the world wide map and given so much of your time to what has been your home and given so many the chance to learn much.
Equally, you've put J-Land on the www and been the catalyst with the biggest shoulders I've met to date.
Go well dear heart, take large strides and the strength will come..it's never as bad as we think it might be. See you later, Peg oxoxo's
Sending you my love and prayers, thinking of you all at this sad time, Love Helen
ReplyDeleteGuido.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you in my prayers and hoping that God will bless you with the strength that you need to get through this very sad time. May he guide you home so that you may pay you condolences to your mother in person.
Take care
Jayne
