Wednesday notes

Bright and sunny day - at last, check my webcam - with a breeze and agreeable temperatures, 16C. Have to say that all the weather predictions for this summer have, so far, turned into dust. It was going to be the hottest summer on record. Now they're saying that the hottest day so far, last weekend in London with 30C, will be the hottest day all year.
It was also going to be a hellish hurricane year in the Atlantic. Well, no hurricanes so far.

Someone decided to smuggle a marmoset, a fist-sized monkey, out of Peru by hiding it under his hat. When he was on the plane, it emerged from under the hat and sat on a seat, apparently well behaved. The animal was confiscated and placed in quarantine. It will probably be taken to a zoo afterwards.

  1. I just saw that on the morning news, and I'm wondering - since they check your shoes, socks, everything else, why didn't they check this guy's hat?  CATHY
