Seaside afternoon

The weather did hold, in spite of that one shower which I could see raining itself out over the Atlantic, a few miles offshore. The mainland was shrouded in low cloud, although visibility within Lewis was excellent. Temperatures here reached 19C / 66F, an excellent July maximum, although the moderate easterly breeze did cool things down a bit. The flowers were not at their best just yet, although the carpet was beginning to show. The months of May and June were poor, so things were not as far advanced as they were last year at this time.

  1. That's beautiful Guido, how did you do this? I am trying to put my photos into a flick thing, but where do I go for that? the link to my slide show in my album does not seem to work neither...

  2. They are really lovely photo's. It would be a botanist's dream I would think trying to identify all these gorgeous flowers. I particularily liked the ones of the Thrift.
I still havn't found how to do the photographs the right way since the change.

  3. Thank you Guido, I appreciate the support more than you'll know.  It was hard for me to write about, but I will try to keep an update posted in my journal.  I love the pictures of the flowers, i want to do more of that when I retire, which won't be long.  Joni for the PNW

  5. All those flowers are beautiful. The seashore pictures are outstanding. It seems odd to just be in the sixties there while in the nineties here. Helen
