Sunday stroll

Went for a walk round the town and the Castle Grounds, and took above pictures. There were a fair number of people about, whiling away the hours of the Stornoway Sunday. Foreign tongues abounded. As did the flowers. Hope you enjoy.

  2. Holy cow, G...it's deserted on a Sunday where you are!  Over here, Sundays are PACKED with shoppers...

that path at the Matheson Memorial would entice me to take a walk..  :-)  pretty...

  3. I really enjoyed going on your stroll with you Guido. Those clouds in Pic #1 really look menacing, don't they?
I've never seen a town that totally rolls up the sidewalks on Sunday like Stornoway does. It's deserted!! What a peaceful place to live.

  6. I loved the stroll... saw a few familiar sites, this must be your neighborhood? Flowers were beautiful... I've never seen rhubarb growing in a garden or in the wild, but I do like baking strawberry-rhubarb pie. I didn't recognize that one flower you questioned... thanks for the Sunday stroll, Guido! bea

  7. I really enjoyed the pictures.
I must be in a weird sort of mindset today, because when you said you went for a walk 'round the grounds, and that foreign tongues abounded, I had a picture in my mind's eye of a field of foreign tongues waving in the breeze.  And no, I haven't been drinking.

  8. I love the pictures especially the flowers and plants.  It's interesting that we have several of those varieties here, like the foxglove and ruhbarb and of course daiseys were so pretty.  Thanks so much for sharing, oh I think the one purple one may be a phlox or wild stock, just an idea..  Joni
