This typhoon is now weakening on its way across Japan, still packing winds of 80 knots. On passing Okinawa yesterday, winds reached 76 mph with gusts up to 103 mph. 100,000 people are without power, substantial damage is reported and 12 crew of a Chinese boat were saved between Guam and Okinawa after their vessel sank. Three are confirmed dead and seven are reported missing.
