Although the Atlantic continues to bask in the sunshine of one of the most inactive hurricane seasons of recent years, other places are not so lucky.
Tropical storm Pabuk has formed in the Pacific. The storm is making a beeline for Taiwan, which is due a hammerblow on Wednesday, with winds of 125 mph. Mainland China will follow a day or so later, with 85 mph winds. Apart from winds, typhoons also carry large amounts of rain.
