Trawled the Belgian news media for further information on the alleged sighting of Madeleine McCann in Tongeren. A child support worker saw the girl in the company of a couple. A bottle of fizzy drink and a straw, used by the little girl, have been seized by police for forensic analysis. DNA tests will have to confirm whether it really was Madeleine.
The Belgian justice department want to speak to the two adults. The man, aged 40, is described as 1 m 80 (6 ft) tall, with brown skin, black hair, unshaven and a sharply cut chin. He speaks Dutch, with an accent from the Netherlands. The Justice department spokesperson points out that there is a marked difference between the accents from Belgium and Holland. The woman, aged 25, has brown or light coloured hair and speaks English. The couple behaved unusually towards the child.

I hope that it was Madeleine (because that means she's alive), and I certainly hope they can track down that couple.
