Saturday 20 September

Very windy today, with white riders on the water of the basin across the road. Autumn is here, and here to stay. The equinox is nigh, and the weather is there to match it.

If you're in the Caribbean, keep an eye on disturbance 93L, which is currently across the Lesser Antilles. It could turn into something unpleasant.

It is reported that using paracetamol in babies could expose them to an increased risk of asthma. Whether it's the paracetamol (acetaminophen) that's to blame, or another factor, allied to the use of the drug (in high temperatures) is being investigated. The BBC have published an extensive article on the subject.

  1. Rain here this morning & I still need to mow the back yard.  It's getting so that there are lots of meds that are being considered unsafe for babies. I wonder what my mom used back in the 1940's for the temps I ran with ear infections?  I know there was no PCN until I was older. And that had to be administered by injection. Ouch!  Linda in WA

  2. I think it is possible that paracetamol could be too blame for childhood asthma Guido, my son developed asthma as a toddler after taking a lot of medication (including paracetamol) for a severe bout of whooping cough, it would certainly make sense

I'll make sure to pass on the info from the report about baby Tylenol!  I have plenty of babies that take it frequently around me!
