When I switched on the news at 8pm, 55 minutes ago, I was horrified to learn of another shooting in a school in the United States. A one-room school, housing 27 pupils, was the target of a lone gunman. He entered the schoolroom, ordered the boys outside and tied up the girls. He then proceeded to shoot them. Three girls died, seven were seriously injured before the man took his own life. Police attempts at negotiations failed.
The shootings took place in an Amish community in southern Pennsylvania, in Lancaster County. The gunman is not thought to have originated from the Amish grouping.

Oh Guido whats wrong with these people the poor parents of the dead children ,and the other poor injured pupils and all the familys and teachers ,.,.,Jan xx
ReplyDeleteI don't know how they can make our schools safe anymore. Around here the school I went to has a huge fence around it and you can't even go on campus without checking in at the office. But, seems it's not enough.

I was horrified as well. This is the third school shooting in a week. The Amish people must be very shocked. They try and do everything they can to keep away from the modern world and that should include the violence. It is very sad.

There has also one going on in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States. It is always the same with these school shootings. One does it and several go behind and do it too.

It's awful the way that kids aren't safe anymore, even in school. Praying for their parents. Jeannette xx http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels
ReplyDeleteyou would think kids at an Amish school would have been safer.

This is madness, yes, madness, indeed. My heart hangs heavy with this news of more violence. My prayers go out to the victims, their families, and the survivors.

Guido, I don't live too far from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. These school shootings scare the crap out of me! (no matter where they happen!) I have to attend a school board meeting (soon) to complain about the lack of security in my daughter's school.

dear Guido
ReplyDeleteDeepest Condolences to thefamilies!

I dont think it had anything to do with the Amish....That sicko just needed to hurt someone else because some one hurt him,,,,so he took his evil and put it where it would hurt the most...children being raised to be avid lovers of non violence....
ReplyDeleteIts beyond disturbing
