Working through the backlog of Halloween alerts, of which I had about 90. So, I will call round everybody this evening.
Second subject: I'm posting this entry in Beta. You can do that yourself by putting "beta." in front of your journal's URL, so in my case it was: beta.journals.aol.co.uk/pharmolo/NorthernTrip
This is in preparation for the release of R9 on Thursday 2 November. Editing and adding entries will give you a totally new look. I've got to await whether the font discrepancy has been resolved. Basically, the edit buttons look different.
Postscript: The font discrepancy has NOT been resolved: my Times New Roman still comes out as a flat Tahoma. Bah.

It looks different here now that I am in the comment section....
ReplyDeleteanyway... I went through all the halloween alerts first and still have 168 to go... Alot are yours, I am sure... :) and many from all the nominated journals, I am exploring...
Have a great day!!
Linda :)
Well, I hope the changes do not cause any problems. Question? From the 2nd do we have to put beta in front or is there a choice? Happy Halloween once more as it will soon be the witching hour.

I'm hoping it doesn't explode on the 2nd! LOL
ReplyDeleteMy font has never worked right, nor does the sz, & spell check only works when it wants too. Wish they'd fix these things...GRRR!
Will we HAVE to use beta?

Not another update Guido, what will they bugger up this time?! It's the date we'll all be trying to vote too! That should be fun if they mess up again! Jeannette xx
ReplyDeleteI have been writing my journal in beta for some time. I like to use arial. I always used that in the Westward Ho newsletter because it was easier for old eyes to read. Am I right? When I saw your entry with all the Halloween tags spread across the page, I thought oh, oh, that is elongating his line. I see the Halloween tags are gone but the lines in your journal are still elongated. I am not used to seeing that in your journal. Did you have a reason for doing it, or was that just the residue of spreading the tags across the page?
ReplyDeleteThe reason I didn't want the elongated line in my journal was because if the line was too long, you have to switch the computer view back and forth to read. I didn't want to make it any harder to read my journal than necessary, so I have always checked any pictures I put on since, in the manner you told me to, in HTML to make sure they don't extend past 600. The journals editor also told me something to that effect about keeping the pictures within 600 width. It looks as though you have not been able to squish the lines, even though you took off the H. tags. Is that right? Just wondering.
Will we have to use beta?? This is all going to be new to me.
