The little girl, aged 3, who had been kidnapped in the Niger delta in Nigeria has been released unharmed. Her kidnappers had demanded that her father would take her place. However, immense pressure locally, including from militant groups, has facilitated her release. Whether a ransom has been paid for the release of Margaret Hill is not clear.
Kidnapping is rife in the oil-rich Niger delta, but the line appears to have been drawn at little children. Wish they'd draw the line at kidnapping full stop.
