Nice and bright morning in the islands, after a wet and breezy night. Yesterday saw the warmest day of the year so far, with the mercury reaching 15C / 59F. We stand to lose 10 degrees from that by tomorrow, with a max of 5C for Saturday, and snow showers throughout the weekend.
An appalling report this morning from a farm in Northern Ireland, where dozens of dead or dying animals were found. When USPCA (Ulster Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) inspectors came to the premises, they lost little time in putting some of the livestock out of its misery. A mass grave with 40 carcasses was also discovered. The owners of the premises have allegedly got convictions for animal cruelty and some are banned from keeping livestock.

Its a lovely warm morning here in County Durham. What an awful thing to happen to those poor animals. I hope they get a prison sentence for what these disgusting people have done. I hope you have a good day.

If people have a convicton against them then it is up to the law or theRSPCA, or their likes, to keep a regular check on them to make sure neglect never happens again.
ReplyDeleteI saw a brief glimpse of these poor animals but a phone call, thankfully, interrupted my viewing. I would have dwelled on this horror for ages! I can't bide cruelty to animals.
As for the weather..it's beautiful today. Too nice to be in front of a computer.

This is really disgusting aint it....However I always say that it is all very good to ban people from keeping animals etc. But who actually watches to see if they do or don't. I sometimes think that about banned drunk/speeding drivers....who actually watches to see if they are back driving the very next week...I have driven for well over 30 + years now and I have never ever had to produce proof that I have a licence...let alone checked to see if I have been banned. ReplyDeleteThis makes me so very sad, it hurts me so deeply to think of any animal being mistreated.

someone should throw THEIR carcasses in a grave like they did those animals.
