The sun promptly disappeared behind medium-level cloud the moment we got off the bus in Bragar at 2.40pm. A cold breeze blew in from the Atlantic, as we walked the mile into the cemetery by the seashore. The grass is still yellow, although the lambs are now out and about. Found 15 graves of Iolaire victims, a very good harvest. Have a few more graveyards to trawl. The Iolaire was a ship which foundered off Stornoway in 1919, taking 205 sailors to the bottom with her. They had just returned from World War I. I have a website which links to a list with names, portraits and images of the gravestones.

Ther's been a cold wind here in the Lakes too Guido. I hope you enjoyed your break away from the computer today. It was a terrible disaster re' The Iolaire victims. So near yet so far away. Thank you for keeping their memory alive by sharing it with others who would never have known about it but for you. This was an awful disaster for Stornoway. God Rest Their Souls. Jeanie
