Sunny Thursday

And I'd better take advantage of this nice weather. It's sunny with a little breeze, some cloud around. It's not going to stay this way, we're in for a wild weekend with lots of wind, rain and possibly flooding.

I have just finished going through about 40 alerts, with one or two new readers (thanks). I was horrified to read of Nelishia's treatment at the hands of her family. How evil can you get? I hope anyone who has not yet been round, will go and offer support.

Here in the islands, the debate about renewable energy continues to rage. Do we want 190 windturbines, strung out over 40 miles, each standing 450 feet tall? The Leodhsachs [Lewis people] say no. Those that aren't going to be affected by these monstrosities take the sanctimonious line and preach windturbines. Forgetting that you also have things like wavepower and tidal power. Fortunately, the Scottish Executive have discovered that this actually exists, and that it is actually Scottish industry that has been at the forefront of developments in that field. You can probably tell that I have very little time for the Executive as it stands at the moment.

  1. Hi Guido.  I'm so far behind in the happenings in your world.  I do believe however, that this is the FIRST time I've seen a graphic used in your journal.  I could be wrong....but it's the first I recall.  VERY nice!!  I love them!
Will go and visit your friend tonight.  Getting ready for work now.  It's 5am here!
We have wind turbines out here in the desert.  They cover the land for miles and miles...but it's out in the middle of nowhere so it's ok.  They wouldn't look too good in an inhabited area.  But, coming up on them when I'm driving out there is kind of a treat to see.
Hope you have a great afternoon.

  2. It is so awful that NeNe's family treats her as they have. There are alot of mean evil and uncaring parents out there, huh?

  6. I am so shocked to see my name in a search and followed it over and found nothing but KINDNESS here.  Aw!  Big hugs for your compassion and understanding.  Thank you for sending out the love and support.  I never knew you did this until today when I accidently found it.  Bless you.   I really needed it then and I hope you will always find love and support from your family when you need it.
