During a tropical cyclone / typhoon / hurricane, accurate information is hard to come by. Last night, I discovered a blogger in Siapan, in the Pacific, which is being struck by typhoon Kong-rey at the moment. Various sources gave wildly varying locations of impact and equally wildly differing assessments of its severity. The poor soul is in a state of confusion and alarm. Read more here.
According to my info, Kong-rey will pass to the north of Saipan, but its outlyers will still have quite an effect on the islands. The other cyclone, Jaya in the Indian Ocean, is still heading for its rendez-vous with Madagascar.
