A name, which was associated with 5 deaths last winter (2006/7) has unfortunately cropped up again for the wrong reasons.
Coire an t-Sneachda, in the Cairngorm Mountains south of Inverness offers challenging climbs, but is quite unforgiving. A walker suffered serious injuries in the area yesterday, and was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. He did not survive.

It's so sad to hear about yet another loss of life on another mountain. My heart goes out to the family. Love Pam xx
ReplyDeleteHow awful ~ I can only imagine the sorrow his family is feeling.

O no, that's tragic. Yet knowing all the risks people continue to reach for the summit. Such is the torch of the inconquerable human spirit. CATHY

I wish they wouldn't climb that thing. Sometimes just because it is there is not good enough excuse. Maybe they should change the name to Suicide Mountain. Gerry
