Vish, one of the journalseditors, has told me that the problems with the greyed-out graphics buttons are restricted to the UK only. It is being looked into and will be resolved ASAP. It looks something like this - oh, and I had to manually upload the picture, and manually insert the <img src tag.

Hi Guido,
ReplyDeleteI have identified the problem and it only affects UK users. The this problem is not in the Journals code but a third party vendor's code who does independent verification of the site statistics.
Looks like they recently added some code on their side (for the UK) that is breaking the Journals code. I am trying to contact a technical person from their side. In the meanwhile we are going to make some changes from our side to turn off this verification for now, until they resolve their problem.
Should not take more than a couple of hours, but we are on top of it.
Apologies for the inconvenience,
Vish
I hope it is resolved soon...your photos are awesome, hate missing any!
ReplyDeleteTake care...
Joyce

ReplyDeleteUpdate on missing buttons
ReplyDelete-------------------------------
We are continuing to find a workaround for this problem. The fix that we thought will make this problem go away, is not working. We have requested a fix from the vendor ASAP. They in turn are contacting their UK team, which made this change.
So, right now, we are continuing to work on this and worst case, it will be resolved by tomorrow in the UK
Apologies again for the incovenience,
Vish
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThe missing button problem has been fixed. I made a change to our software and pushed it to the production machines. So, we need not depend on the vendor to fix this. Let me know if you see any issues.
Vish
What a pain in the arse... hope they sort it out soon!
ReplyDeletebe well,

NOT restricted to UK I've got it now too, darn it. Can't even drag and drop. I know a certain ISP I'd like to drag and drop into the nearest river. CATHY
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI made a change to our code to fix the grayed out button problems (this time for some AOL client users) on the Add Entry page. This was happening because for some reason in the AOL client, the cache was not being cleared and the newer code was not being run.
So, all should be well, now. If it does not work, just clear cache. And this time, I promise you it will work. Sorry for all the aggravation. This problem was caused by one of our software vendors that does site statistics verification and I have been trying to find a fix for this ever since.
Thanks,
Vish
