Hurricane Isaac looks increasingly likely to make landfall on Newfoundland tomorrow afternoon, with winds up to 65 knots / 73 mph, that is hurricane force. The cyclone will change into a non-tropical storm system as it nears Newfoundland. Tropical storm force winds are nonetheless likely within the next 24 to 36 hours for the Avalon Peninsula in Canada, including the cities of St Johns and Cape Race.
