Typhoon Xangsane

This typhoon is now dying out over the border between Vietnam and Laos, after causing widespread disruption in the coastal city of Danang. Winds up to 110 mph / 180 km/h buffeted the city, causing flooding and power outages. Trains are reportedly stuck throughout the region. Earlier this week, Xangsane caused 30 deaths and widespread flooding and disruption to the Philippine capital, Manila. A more extensive report can be read on the BBC Asia website.
