Six weeks ago, just before I went away to Glasgow, I visited the village of Laxay. This is a small village, by Lewis standards, about 12 miles south of Stornoway. My visit was a flying one: went there on the 4pm bus, to return about 45 minutes after arrival. The purpose was to collect pictures for one of my historical projects. As you can see, it's a sunny day, and believe you me, it was warm as well. Funniest thing happened on my return. I was expecting a minibus to turn up, so when one came round the corner, I flagged it down. Not the servicebus, but a private one, giving me a free ride into Stornoway.
