Barry and Barbara have both made landfall, within an hour of each other. Barry is expected to transform into an 'ordinary' depression, with gales down the eastcoast of the USA. Barbara will rain itself out in the interior of Guatemala / Mexico, with rainfall accumulations approaching 20 inches.
All tropical storm watches and warnings have been DISCONTINUED in Florida. Cuba should beware of flash floods and mudslides following the rains (3 to 10 inches). Isolated tornadoes remain a possibility in southern Florida.
The Arabian Sea is currently the scene for tropical storm, soon-to-be hurricane Gonu, which will reach windspeeds of 75 knots (85 mph) in the next day or so. The cyclone is heading straight for the United Arab Emirates - hope they're ready for it, by the middle of next week.

Been watching Barry's actions since early dawn when they were still predicting tropical storm warnings - thanks for being so accurate. Barry is the only one we in NJ need to worry about. You'll notice, I made a big typo in the last entry, and I know people want to see these events so I posted an "adjustment". The 18th is the day. xoxo CATHY
