Look back - Royal National Mod

Last year, the Royal National Mod, an international competition in Gaelic culture, was held in Stornoway. I do not speak or understand Gaelic, but I hold that music transcends all borders and languages. So, off I went to all the musical events. The blog is in reverse chronological order (as per normal), so I link to the first entry.

Additionally, I would like to point to the website I built, from which you can listen to some of the recordings I made at the time. You need to crank up the volume for these; I was seated some distance from the performers. Visit http://modmusic.bravehost.com/index.html and listen to some of the recordings.

Note: there is a low bandwidth limit on the website (it's a freebie site). If you run into a "bandwidth exceeded limit" error, please try again after 8 am the next day (UK) or after midnight PDT.

Enjoy!
