Afternoon all. We've got a thin layer of snow on the ground here today, following some falls which started at 8pm last night. Overnight low -2C, 28F, which is quite low for this corner of the country. Remember, I'm right on the seashore. Looks pretty, but as per usual, there is disruption to traffic.
Here in Northern Scotland, there is concern over the continuing discovery of radio-active particles on a beach near the nuclear plant at Dounreay, 35 miles west of John o' Groats. The particles were discharged into the sea between 1963 and 1975. Dounreay is currently being decommissioned after more than 40 years.

That's worriesome about the radioactive particles. Doesn't surprise me one bit, though.
ReplyDeleteStay warm....that's COLD!

I left College in '63. What a legacy Dounreay is leaving behind for future generations. Its decommissioning has not come before time! You write such interesting snippets Guido...that tropical storm sounds a worrying biggie down under too! Jeanie
ReplyDeleteGuido that is worrying the discovery of radio~active particles being found on a beach near Dounreay ~ what an awful legacy we are leaving for our future generations ~ Ally
ReplyDeleteIt's 27F here in Brighton, that's so cold for down south! Not had any snow yet though! When they opened these nuclear power plant I don't think they looked too hard into the dangers. It must be worrying for those around the area and further afield. Jeannette xx
ReplyDeleteSnow must have been pretty coming down, but sad about the particles with it...that's not good...hope your week goes well....doing some catching up.
