Morning all from a very windy Isle of Lewis. Winds up to force 9 this morning, with gusts reaching 62 mph. Winds on the exposed outpost of North Rona are at 72 mph sustained at 9 a.m.. As it is Friday, this has led to another bindance, like the one we had with the previous gale on a Friday morning back in January. Ferry is not running until further notice, although a little bird tells me that MV Clansman will probably make an appearance late in the day.
Reunion and Mauritius appear to have dodged a silver bullet, as Favio swings to the south of both islands and remains only a tropical storm. Winds are comparable to what we have today - 40 to 60 mph.

Well that's a relief Guido. It sounded quite a scary situation at first. Jeanie
ReplyDeleteIt looks like your temps are comparable to ours this morning, but our wind isn't as bad. I think our wind chill is only at about zero.

Wow...hope that wind doesn't leave you with any property damage. I think I dislike wind most of all. Keep snug in your house....Linda in Washington
