I'm doing a bit of looking ahead on my own bat - which is always a bit tricky. However, the hurricane warning centre at La Reunion, in the Indian Ocean, has me worried.
A weather system has developed 1100 miles east northeast of La Reunion which they think will turn into a tropical cyclone within 12 hours. Its projected path sets it on a collision course with Mauritius by Friday afternoon local time.
There is no indication from the centre at La Reunion about the strength of the system once it reaches Mauritius, and I'm waiting for the 6pm bulletin from the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre for a formal update.
Please bear in mind that the map below is in French, where Maurice is Mauritius.
