Nice bright day here in the islands, with cloud now increasing. Better weather than along the English Channel coast, which is subject to a severe gale warning:
Very strong southwesterly winds will blow across southern coastal
districts of England today with gusts to severe gale force at times in
association with heavy and thundery showers. Severe gales or storm
force winds are expected over the English Channel and also exposed
coasts of southern England, the Channel Isles, and northern France.
Seas will be very high with uncomfortable ferry crossings to the
Continent.
This is of course severe weather, but a lot more common in our neck of the woods.

Just went over and checked the Newton Cam. Looks like you had a little precipitation. That's a lot better than having a gale force wind, though. Hope you have a good day, Guido.

I feel a bit seasick now, having looked at your smashing photograph Guido. I hope you are well and warm. Jeanie
ReplyDeleteThe last 3 or 4 days here in western Washington have found temps in the upper 40's even right at 50 degrees. Yesterday it went between sun & showers. But I understand they are predicting rain for many days starting Wednesday. At least the temps have been moderate and not down in the freezing zone. My heart goes out to those in the mid-west & east coast where they are getting buried in snow. Linda in western Washington

You're right, it's certainly better than we have here down on the Channel coast! We've had gales and rain lashing down for the past six hours! Jeannette xx
