So, I went down to the Local Mod on Thursday and Friday to record some of the competitions. I also brought the camera. The latter was not a good idea. On Friday morning, I was called to one side by a high-ranking official within the organising committee to tell me to stop taking pictures, because there were children involved. What a sick world we live in. Oh, everybody else was taking pictures themselves, but that was presumably OK because they had kids in the competition and everything else. Just because I'm a bloke on my own makes me a child molester in disguise, I presume.
I told the chap in question that I was making sound recordings of the competitions; I'm not interested in what I saw, I was there to LISTEN.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. It seems we live in a sick, sad world. I heard that you can't even take photos at your own childrens birthday party if there are other peoples kids there. I think these idiots who make up these rules are sick themselves. Jeannette xx
ReplyDeleteIsnt it sad that a few sick pervs have spoilt so many things for innocent people ....Jan xx
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad, sorry you had a bad incident. Hope it didn't spoil the entire festival for you.
ReplyDeleteI recall a few yrs back, on the news...hearing about a photo developer who had turned a young mother in for taking pics of her2 & 3 yo dtrs playing in the tub. She was actually being detained & Child Protection was checking her out!!!
TG all this wasn't happening when my kids were babies or I'd still be in jail!!! I was always snapping them in bubble baths & running through the house wearing thier diaper on their head, etc. LOL
Times have REALLY changed!
Hugs,
Sugar
