Today does not start with very good weather, although it very gradually improves through the day. TS Alberto douses Florida with inches of rain, apparently welcome on account of a drought and wildfires. A limited storm surge, 5 ft, gives some folk wet feet. I'm appalled at the lack of awareness about hurricanes over in the States. I have all the info from the National Hurricane Centre on-line, with bulletins every 3 to 6 hours. The forecast projects the remains of Alberto to cross the Atlantic to reach Scotland by Monday next week. AOL give me hell, with the upgrade. The sun comes out in the evening as I cook "Take a leek" for mrs B. This week, we have two teenage lads staying with us who are on a week's work experience. Their mates, here on the same business, call round and stay late. The other guest works in air traffic control at the airport and has to start work at 6 am.
