Videos

Just to tell everybody that I have a webcam (have had it since December 2005), which can be viewed on http://adb41.camstreams.com. The webcam shows what happens outside the window in Stornoway; it's primarily intended to show the weather (it really doesn't always rain here!). I do NOT show myself on the webcam. Occasionally, I show videos through this channel. I'll leave an entry on here when that is going to happen, linking back to this entry to remind you of the procedure.

The procedure is a bit complicated. I start the video more or less exactly at the time I advertise. That time is quoted in BST (British Summer Time). The webcam site has a clock, showing BST. If you're viewing from outside the UK, you need to make a note of the time difference. The videoclip (varying in length from 3 to 15 minutes) will normally be shown 3 or 4 times a day.

When I am about to start the video, the webcam will go offline. You need to press F5 (Refresh) to view the video. If I'm so inclined, I'll open the chatroom facility, but I've gone off chatrooms in recent times.
