Thursday 15/06/06

Grey day with occasional rain and a fair bit of wind. The 6 Norwegian navy ships leave port at 8 am; they are very fast. Mrs B's nephew comes for a coffee and a bit of lunch. The big Co-op on Macaulay Road has recently expanded, but they haven't sorted themselves out by a long shot, it's a shambles by all accounts. Former Tropical Cyclone Alberto is now south of Cape Cod, heading northeast towards Nova Scotia and out into the Atlantic. We can expect him by Sunday. Nothing major, except for a lot of rain. In Inaclete Road, out the back, workmen are cutting a slice out of a wall, probably in anticipation of removing a large section of wall altogether. The yard behind it is a bus repair workshop, and the drivers have no end of bother manoeuvring in and out of it. The Gazette reports on the application for the windfarm at Eishken, which the Comhairle will be debating tonight. The last I hear of it is that it has been approved, and that it will now go in front of the Scottish Executive.
