Evening notes

Very quiet day here, apart from some movements of boats. One being taken out of the water, the other went for a daytrip. Dark skies are moving up from the south - sunset in 20 minutes. A tropical depression has moved ashore in the extreme northeast of Vietnam - not much wind, but these features usually bring a heck of a lot of rain.

Otherwise, the tropics are not likely to spawn any major cyclones just yet. Just watching something brewing up 560 miles south of Guam in the Pacific. Could turn into something nasty, but we'll have to watch, early days yet.

Am still seriously behind with alerts, but intend to make an impact after I submit this entry. This afternoon, I entered a lot of info on my Faces from the War Memorial site. I didn't realise Lewis had more than 100 villages. If something crops up from my Inbox, I'll post again, otherwise, more tomorrow.

  1. Thanks as always for your interesting posts. We have had a better day down here in Wiltshire only a couple of heavy showers.  It is still quite warm though, indeed I am  just about to go to bed and shut the back door it has been open since I got up at 6.45am, this morning...although not pitch dark it is very dark out there and the light has been on since around 9pm.  Good Night  Sybil

  2. Well Guido...no worry about visiting my journal when you are hard pushed.  I can still come and visit yours and know you are still alive and kicking.
Our weather here in the Lakes is cold and damp.  I am sitting indoors wearing a fleece in July!   I refuse to put on the central heating in the summer time...lol!  It feels more like a cold early spring day than summertime here in the Lakes.  Its getting beyond a joke now....I want sunshine!  Humph!   Can you see it anywhere?
