A pale sun is peaking over a bank of cloud, as weather conditions are set to become severe in the next 12 hours. We have an outstanding warning for severe gales by dawn tomorrow, as rain, sleet and snow (in the hills) is pushing north out of Ireland. Temperatures at the moment a very meagre 4C. Although, compared to certain towns in northern Russia (-40C in Verchoyansk) it's not that bad.
In the Middle East, there have been a few ructions in the past 24 hours. Iranian gunboats decided to play cat-and-mouse with the US Navy - hazardous ploy. And rockets were fired into Israel out of southern Lebanon with no casualties.
