Sunday notes

Grey and overcast in the islands today, with rain expected later on. Eclipse watching last night was a very cold passtime, with temperatures of 3C / 37F. Took well over 100 pictures, which I'll pare down to a suitable collection for showing on here - watch this space. For the time being, the BBC website has a  nice selection of pics from around the world.

So, Liz Hurley got hitched in Italy. Do I look as if I care? I find the whole celebrity phenomenon just what it is: a lot of hot air. So, Jade Goody went to India and found that everybody was so nice to her. Do I look as if I care? Jade is an ignorant loudmouth who doesn't engage her brain before she speaks - but it probably would not make much difference if she did. So, Diana's inquest will be carried out in front of a jury? If that's what the law requires, then that's the way it'll be. Mohammed Al-Fayed is so obsessed with the conspiracy theory that he is making very serious allegations against members of the Royal Family. Has he ever heard of lese-majeste [insult of the monarch]?

Finally, northern Australia is getting away with tropical cyclone George, which is so kind as to head away from land before turning into a category 2 hurricane.

  1. A wet and miserable day here too Guido, it`s getting dark already and I`ve soon have to turn a light on. :o(  I feel the same way about Liz Hurley and this whole `celebrity` circus. You`d think a wedding day would be a personal thing but that wouldn`t exactly massage the ego would it?.  Now perhaps we won`t hear anymore about her!
