Wednesday notes

For a change at the end of the day. Today's weather was unpleasant - wet, windy and feeling very cold in the wind. According to the thermometers, it was marginally warmer than yesterday, and there was no snow or hail. Tomorrow should see a nice bright spring day, although the temps are still not worth mentioning. I'm winking at people south of the Border, who will experience what we had today.

The Chancellor of the Exchequer (the Minister for Finance in the UK) has presented his annual Budget for 2007/8. Can't say I'm particularly riveted by that sort of thing, it was taking away with one hand what he gave with the other. But, Chancellors of various political hues have played that sort of game since time immemorial.
