Bad weather

An indication of the bad weather is shown by the fact that four cargo ships are now sheltering in Broad Bay, the inlet north of Stornoway. As of 4.15pm just now, the Fri River, Ulrike G, Rogne and Mekhanik Birlin are all there, waiting to ride out the storm. This page on AIS shows them all - please bear in mind that this is being refreshed every 2 minutes and the situation is liable to change.
