Two cyclones in the Pacific today - and one is getting the Australians all worried. Had about 20 looking around my Tropical Cyclones blog this evening.
TC PIERRE is located east of Papua New Guinea and slowly moving west towards Port Moresby. That city is still 455 miles shy of the cyclone. It is not a strong affair; current winds do not exceed 45 knots and it won't get much stronger than that. .
Tropical storm YUTU is not threatening land as it curves around the Marianas. Maximum windspeeds will be reached over the weekend, about 95 mph.
