ReplyDeleteThis storm actually will be a good event after it makes landfall and travels up through Georgia. There are some huge fires burning in Georgia north of the Florida border. These fires have been raging for weeks now and the rain from this tropical storm will finally put the blazes out. Georgia has been in a drought condition for months and will benefit from the rain by having the water table raised again as well. We are looking forward to this one in Georgia, it's been on all the newscast all day long today.

I remember the forest fires In Georgia that Sam mentioned. They started the day after I passed through the area five weeks ago, I didn't know they were still going till I read Sams' comment but I hope the heavy rain will put them out. ReplyDeleteFlorida and Georgia would welcome a good rain storm. When we were in Jacksonville 10 days ago, all we could smell was smoke, depending how the wind was blowing. Dawn
ReplyDeleteSounds like we need some rain down there... thanks for the heads up! bea
