Eastern Pacific
At 1500 GMT, the governments of Guatemala and Mexico have issued a tropical storm watch from Sipacate (Guatemala) westward to Barra de Tonala, Mexico. A tropical storm watch means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area, generally within 36 hours.

Tropical storm Barbara is now located at 13.3N 94.1W or 150 miles southwest of the Guatemala / Mexico border or 215 miles SSE of Salina Cruz, Mexico. The storm is moving east at 5 mph, turning northeast later today or tonight. Maximum sustained winds are near 45 mph with higher gusts - some strengthening is forecast over the next 24 hours. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 45 miles form the centre. Heavy rains, with accumulated totals of 5 to 10 inches, isolated amounts of 20 inches, associated with this system could cause life-threatening flash floods and mudslides.
