Tropical cyclone Gonu has passed the Oman capital Musqat at 4pm this afternoon and is presently heading north for Iran. The cyclone is presently at tropical storm level, with maximum sustained winds of 60 knots. This will decrease to 45 knots by landfall. As of this coming Friday, this extra-ordinary cyclone will be history. No others are forecasted to form within the next 48 hours, according to the various hurricane agencies.
