Update on Cyclone Gonu
I have been asked to give broader outlook for this cyclone, and am happy to do so. The influence of this cyclone is waning fast, and will not extend beyond the Sultanate of Oman and the southeast of Iran. High winds only occur within 200 km of the centre, marked with a red + on the satellite image below. The cyclone is moving NORTH, into Iran, and will dissipate within 2 days. Only Dubai may catch a glancing blow this evening, but it won't be more than strong winds and some rain.
