4th July

Today is of course the 4th of July, and I'd like to wish my American readers a very happy day, and PLEASE be careful with fireworks.

If you have any pets, keep them indoors, with curtains drawn and lights on. Do not display any alarm at any loud bangs or flashes as this may upset a possibly already frightened animal.

Light fireworks strictly according to instructions, never with an open flame, rather with a lit cigarette. Never hold a lit firework in your hands, and do not throw fireworks at someone else, an animal or object. Serious injury or death could result, or you could start a fire.

Make it a night to remember - for the right reasons.

Here is to 231 years of American independence.

  3. Thank you dear heart for reminding people of our poor animals and how frightened they can be. I've already had some trouble with Pickles wanting to hide. Your a wonderful friend remembering us across the pond. (Hugs) Indigo

  4. Sadly, any thought of safety flies out the window when you get a bunch of grown men and some firecrackers.  ;-)  Ah well...gives the hospital staff something to do, I s'pose..

  5. My little Gabi is of course a house cat.  But, Im leaving the TV on while I'm gone today and this evening, so hoepfully the noise outside won't frighten her. Thanks for the 4th of July wishes.  Linda

  6. Thank you Guildo. I hope it will be quite tonight as neighbors on both sides of us have dogs. They don't need to be frightened. Helen
