4th July

And to all the good folk on the other side of the pond - have a great Fourth of July but be careful with fireworks.

The above picture was taken on the 30th December 2005 at Stornoway, when the New Year Fireworks Display took place at 8pm. The problem was that it could not happen on New Year's night, as 1 January 2006 fell on a Sunday, so it would be a violation of the Sabbath. So they plonked it on Friday evening at 8 o'clock. Sigh.

  1. TY for your warm wishes! And the reminder to all to be careful with fireworks. There's many devastaing firework accidents every year. :(
I'll be making a July 4th entry tomorrow, come by & visit!

  2. Fireworks can be so dangerous and I know many animals are terrified of them. I'm lucky that my  two cats love to sit at the window and watch them! I hope all our American friends will have a safe and happy day. Jeannette xx
