Storm Images

As promised, some pictures which I took at the Coastguard Station. This is the blocky building you see in some of my pictures. Winds were very strong, and latest reports show windspeeds heading straight for severe gale force 9. Gusts are already exceeding 50 knots, force 10. The southerly winds whipped up the swell from the Minch, and that created some magnificent breakers against the causeway. The video below shows what conditions were like.

  1. Wow, the video was amazing...and the waters very dangerous ....the winds were whipping that water everywhere...the photos caught great shots of it all too.  Thanks for sharing....take care of yourself...

  3. WOW Guido!!  You were SOOOO close to the waters edge!  I'm glad you made it back inside to post this.  Sheesh!
    Loved the pics and the video.  Hard for me to fathom such a storm going on right at this moment with my weather being what it is today.  Calm, sunny, and cool.  The perfect day.

    I hope you enjoy the storm! I know I would!!

Boy those winds were strong....good to know the storm season is on its way down....we had strong winds last week but nothing like what you guys have...Its really the perfect weather for the hermit in me...sunny weather is too convicting..lol..Thanks for sharing the video...would love to see more sometime..-Raven
