Caught short

A man got off with a light sentence after being found guilty of driving at 102 mph at Daviot, along the A9 Inverness to Perth road, where the speedlimit is 70 mph. He told the court that he was undergoing radiation treatment for cancer, which caused him to urinate frequently and as he was going down the A9, he needed the toilet urgently. He was given a 3 months' driving ban and fined £100, a more lenient sentence than normal. The sheriff [judge] told the man he should have driven off the main road and found himself a bush to relieve himself. However, the treatment counted as a mitigating circumstance.
