Hurricane update - 14 May

Please RELAY
The Bay of Bengal has spawned a tropical cyclone, with the prosaic name of 01B. Over the next few days, a name will be allocated to this hurricane-to-be. By the time it makes landfall, in the border area between Myanmar [former Burma] and Bangladesh, 01B will carry winds of 85 mph. I will continue to monitor this hurricane, which will arrive at the point of impact during Tuesday.

A reminder that the hurricane season starts in the Eastern Pacific on Tuesday 15 May 2007. The Atlantic hurricane season had a bit of a dry-run with subtropical cyclone ANDREA, but does not officially start until Friday 1 June 2007.
