Where there's smoke, there's fire

In Scotland, GP's can prescribe from a list of medicines on their computers. It's called an e-Formulary. When they decide to prescribe a drug, they can enter the name of the medicine and the e-Formulary program will prompt them.

A recent glitch meant that selecting the smoking cessation medicine Zyban led to a prescription being printed for Viagra, the well-known treatment for impotence. Nobody was dispensed Viagra in error, as each prescription for that drug will have been queried by the pharmacist.

  2. Oh well, the Viagra would give them something to do and take their mind off the cigarettes I suppose! Jeannette xx  http://beta.journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/
