Windy Nook

We're having yet another gale here (I'm yawning, is that why it's blowing hard again?) so the ferry is once again tied up, this time here in Stornoway. I would just like to copy this rundown of the progression of cancellations on another route, the Small Isles service out of Mallaig.

[ 1 ] Due to the previous disruptions and enlight of the forecast for tomorrow the LochNevis is going to attempt to call at all four of the islands today. However the weather has deteriorated again so a decision will be made shortly as to how the timetable will operate and as to when the weather is going to be most suitable to make the calls.

[ 2 ] The Lochnevis is on route to Eigg at the moment, we will update regarding calls to the other islands as and when we know.

[ 3 ] The Captain has advised that the calls to Muck and Canna are cancelled for today due to the adverse conditions, a decision will be made regarding continuing to Rum once they have been to Eigg.

[ 4 ] The Lochnevis has now left Eigg and is on route to Rum e.t.a 1300h, they will then be returning to Mallaig e.t.a 1440h.

[ 5 ] The Captain has just advised that the conditions are to poor to continue to Rum and they are returning to Mallaig. e.t.a. 1400h

There will be an update a.s.a.p and for any further info. tel. Mallaig Office. 01687 462403

As per normal, the Met Office has not issued any gale warnings for this part of the world, why the **** should they <growls>.
