Yes, I know it's only February 9th. But, just go over and have a look at these webcam images from Svalbard. This is a group of islands on the 80th parallel,
not far from the North Pole. Around Christmas, these do not see the
daylight. Now, there is daylight between about 9 am and 3pm, and I
think the sun is already above the horizon there at midday.
