Hurricane update - 7 March

Northwestern Australia is currently under warning for two tropical cyclones. The Cocos Islands as well as Christmas Island could get an unwelcome visit from Tropical Cyclone JACOB in a day or so's time. The forecasters have great difficulty projecting Jacob's future course and strength, but those interested should monitor this page on the BoM website.

Worse than that, Tropical Cyclone GEORGE is now getting its act together. Judging by the forecast map for this hurricane, the town of Exmouth could be receiving a direct hit from a category 4 hurricane by the weekend. Warnings mention winds between 95 and 115 mph. This is still a couple of days away, and cyclones are notoriously unpredictable. Those concerned should monitor this page on the BoM website.
