Hurricane update - 8 March PM

Tropical cyclone GEORGE is now well in-land, south of Port Hedland in Western Australia. Reports state that there could have been a fatality, with many people injured at a mining camp inland. Tomorrow morning, I'll be able to confirm the extent of the damage caused by this cyclone, one of the strongest in recent years.

Tropical cyclone JACOB has decided not to visit Christmas Island, and instead decided to follow his big brother George towards the Pilbara region. Indeed, the very place that was affected today. Still a longish way off, but I'm getting rather concerned.

  1. Thanks again for keeping us allupdated on these dreadfully damaging Cyclones. I know that they are far away but we should all be concerned about our fellow man and do hope that there hasn't been any fatalities.  I hadn't thought of tuning into a radio station abroad...Will have to give it a go.   Sybil x
